Jim & Aurora's hibernation pods malfunctioned which awaken them, and soon they fell in love with each other just before the ship is about to collapse. Deadline noted, that "Passengers" Jim and Aurora finally knows the reason why they were awaken, and it is their mission to save the lives loaded in that ship.
The rest of the "Passengers" were awaken after 90 years. Their duo to make their mission successful would be mind blowing.
