As the post-apocalyptic drama recently concluded with a bang, fans are now waiting for the coming of "The Last Ship" Season 4. Fans got the surprise of their TV viewing lifetime as Tex (John Pyper-Ferguson) died and Tom (Eric Dane) resigned from his post. With the major twist and turn of events, it would all take its toll in the life of the beloved Captain.
EP Hints 'The Last Ship' Season 4 Will Feature Tom's Emotional Distress
"We thought that of all the characters that could have had some sort of breakdown or just felt the most burdens, it would be Chandler," EP Steven Kane told TVLine. According to Christian Daily, fans believed that Tom will only shrug the things happening around him, but little did they know that he is also greatly affected. In fact, the writer even added that Tex's death would have an emotional impact to Tom in the rest of "The Last Ship" Season 4.
To recall, as Allison (Elisabeth Rohm) was trying to assassinate Tom, Tex caught the bullet instead and died from it. From there, The Naval officer quickly left his seat and turned his back from the USS Nathan James because of the guilt and grieve he felt. Fans were surprised with Tom's drastic resignation, but as Steven Kane explained it, it is the "price of the leadership" that will be seen in "The Last Ship" Season 4.
Eric Dane Teases 'The Last Ship' Season 4 Will Be An Epic, Mythical-Like
Meanwhile, Yibada reported that "The Last Ship" Season 4's story will start a year after the last season's finale. "Season four is going to be intense. Tom has been on three very different, personal journeys between season one and three," Eric Dane told Three if by Space. The 43-year-old teased that the new installment will be about Tom's "journey back to consciousness."
Eric Dane also revealed that "The Last Ship" Season 4 will be an "epic, mythical-like" expedition for Tom and other cast members. He also added that fans have to dig it deep to understand it well.
