Microsoft, Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix are releasing a limited edition Xbox 360 Tomb Raider themed wireless controller in order to commemorate Lara Croft's return to the Xbox 360 and video game platforms.
The controller will go on sale on the same day as the new Tomb Raider video game releases and is priced at $59.99. For those gamers who purchase the Xbox 360 Tomb Raider controller will receive a download code for an Xbox 360 exclusive playable character called the devious Scavenger Archer.
According to Microsoft, the controller was "developed in collaboration with artists at Crystal Dynamics, the design of the controller features a two-layer color finish with laser etching to create a realistic and tactile worn appearance inspired by Lara's iconic climbing axe and the tourniquets that result from the adventure in her intense origin story, as told in this latest title."
Like regular edition wireless controllers for the Xbox 360, the limited edition controller will feature wireless range up to 30-feet.
Xbox Live's Major Nelson, Larry Hryb announced on his blog that he will be giving away five of these limited edition controllers all you have to do is follow the direction from Major Nelson.
"I've got five of this beauties to give away, Hryb wrote. "How do you win? Simple: In the comments below, post what your favorite 'Tomb Raider' video game is and why."
The game explores the intense and gritty origin story of Lara Croft and her ascent from a frightened young woman to a hardened survivor. It is a complete reboot of the franchise and is not related to any other games in the series.
