Game & Guide previously tackled the possible free games for the Xbox Games with Gold program so now it is time to see what Sony could be offering for October for their PlayStation Plus freebies.
We are past the half of September so anticipation on the next batch of free games have started. In fact, Sony is likely to announce some of the game title offering it will be putting up in the coming weeks.
While that remains to be seen, a couple of games have been pitched as possibly coming for the PlayStation Plus members. They are possibly “Resident Evil 6” and “Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition”.
Why “Resident Evil 6”?
Similar to the speculation tied up to seeing “Watch Dogs” joining the Xbox Games with Gold”, “Resident Evil 6” could follow the same route because of the potential release of “Resident Evil 7” next year. Should that be the case, it makes a bit of sense from Sony to consider “Resident Evil 6” and avoid seeing the game fall of the shelf. Adding a bit of fire to the speculation was that erroneous spotting of “Resident Evil 6” at the PlayStation Store where it was listed as a free title for the PS3.
“Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition” exiting soon?
The case of “Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition” is no different. “Rise of the Tomb Raider” is set to launch next month and to avoid a free-fall, adding it as a free game next month to the PlayStation Plus lineup also makes sense.
Subscription Price Hike reminder
If not the free game route, these game titles could be offered instead for a price for PlayStation Plus gamers. That said, gamers are reminded of the impending price hike taking effect Sept. 22.
Membership fees will be jacked up by $10 to US folks while the ones in Canada will have a $20 spike on their membership. Current members are encouraged to turn off the auto-renewal feature off meaning they are not obligated to stick with the PlayStation Plus program.
