Game developer and publisher Ubisoft is offering free copies of their upcoming open world action-adventure video game, "Watch Dogs 2," to top real life hackers in the United States. According to reports, the company has recently partnered with a group of hackers in the U.S., which called themselves, Major League Hacking. The group is said to organize and sponsor hacking tournaments in the country.
Ubisoft is willing to give out free copies of their latest project "Watch Dogs 2" to the recent winner of the hacking tournament. According to the group's official website, the competition is all about designing a hacking tool that would expose the fragility of data on mobile phones. The goal is to demonstrate how easy it is to get secured data from smartphone users.
The hacking group will also hold another "Watch Dogs 2" competition similar to that of the Capture the Flag mode, in which hackers will design a tool that they are instructed to do. The fastest person to do so will win the competition and will get the opportunity to go to Ubisoft Montreal.
Apparently, this isn't the first time Ubisoft promotes an upcoming game in a unique way. Right before the release of "Far Cry Primal," the company also held a competition that will give the winner a chance to camp in a real cave. The new "Watch Dogs 2" promotional gimmick is definitely going to help Ubisoft in marketing the game to a wider audience.
Meanwhile, Ubisoft released a new "Watch Dogs 2" trailer at the recently concluded Tokyo Game Show 2016. The new footage featured the main antagonist of the game, Douchean Nemek, the person behind San Francisco's ctOS 2.0 and Blume. His plan to control the whole city will be halted by Marcus Halloway and the rest of DedSec members. The main protagonist will do everything that he can to expose Nemek and his cohorts.
"Watch Dogs 2" is already scheduled to arrive on Nov. 15 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platform. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more "Watch Dogs 2" news and updates!
