Dylan O'Brien fans can finally sigh in relief now that the "Maze Runner: The Death Cure" actor seems to be recovering quickly after his March accident. In addition to a recent Twitter photo that confirmed that "Teen Wolf" Season 6 star is back on his feet, Fox has confirmed that "Maze Runner 3" willl resume production early next year. But is it possible that the already-delayed sequel is being pushed back for O'Brien's other film "American Assassin"? Or will the two movies have to work around his schedule in 2017?
Dylan O'Brien Confirmed As Lead Star In 'American Assassin', Will He Work On Adaptation Before Returning To 'Maze Runner 3' Set?
GamenGuide has previously reported on the possibility that Dylan O'Brien will work on "American Assassin" before the "Teen Wolf" Season 6 star returns to "Maze Runner 3". The film, which is based on the novel by Vince Flynn, has been moving forward rather quickly with its casting. Now that Michael Keaton and Sanaa Lathan are on board, will "American Assassin" begin production immediately? If it does, this might mean it will be shot before "The Death Cure".
However, there are also speculations that "Maze Runner 3" and "American Assassin" will be shot at the same time. Unfortunately, this would mean Dylan O'Brien will have to work on two different projects at once and that might not be a good idea for the "Teen Wolf" Season 6 actor. Too much work is probably not a healthy option for someone who is still recovering from a major accident back in March.
It is possible that Dylan O'Brien is currently working on "Teen Wolf" Season 6 then will take a breather before returning to the set of "Maze Runner 3" next year. He might then start shooting for "American Assassin" when "The Death Cure" wraps and premieres on January 12, 2018. In the meantime, here's O'Brien as Mitch Rapp in the Michael Cuesta movie.
