Xiaomi Mi 5S Release Date, Specs And Feature: Refreshed Edition Coming Soon

The Xiaomi Mi 5 debuted early this year but it looks like it will be in good company soon. Thanks to a couple of leaks, word has it that a Xiaomi Mi 5S will be following suit and it seems promising.

GSM Arena reports that the Xiaomi Mi 5S recently passed the Chinese 3C regulatory body and would need only to pass TENAA certification before it is made official. Hence, it may be halfway through the process but no factual release date is still out.

Regardless, it would be best to see what there is to expect for the Xiaomi Mi5S. With the company obviously keeping mum, we head on over to the grapevine for the rumored specs.

The rumored specs

Among the key specs that the Xiaomi Mi 5S will reportedly carry include a 5.15-inch QHD display. Take note that there were rumors of a possible curved display for the device as well as some 3D Touch integration per Gizmo China.

All that will be supported by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC, 6 GB of RAM, an Adreno 530 GPU, 256 GB internal storage and a 16 MP main camera. Other features worth mentioning include a 3,940 mAh battery, USB Type-C port with QuickCharge 3.0, Bluetooth 4.2 and NFC, Digital Trends reported.

For now, there is no word on the front-facing camera. Considering none of these are confirmed, it may be fair to refer to the current Xiaomi Mi 5 which sports a 4 MP camera at the least.

All eyes on the main camera

Known to deliver quality specs at a good price, the Xiaomi Mi 5S 16 MP main camera can allegedly record 4K videos at 30 fps, something that should be interesting to look forward to. Hence, it would not be surprising if it would be capable of capturing and delivering crisp photos as well.

There is no actual release date for the Xiaomi Mi 5S though it may be limited for release in China or maybe Asia at the farthest. No price for it has been revealed as well for now.
