The fate of the fourth installment of the popular Marvel superhero film, "Iron Man," still remains uncertain. There have been conflicting reports on whether or not "Iron Man 4" has been given the green light, but recent ones suggest that Downey, Jr. will indeed be back for another round.
The rumors of a possible "Iron Man 4" movie started when "The Judge" actor posted on Twitter a photo of himself, along with "Iron Man" co-star Jon Favreau, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, and Joe and Anthony Russo, chef Roy Choi and Tom Holland (SpiderMan: Homecoming). Downey, Jr. also teased that a new project is being worked on. Fans easily took it as a hint that a new "Iron Man" movie will soon be in the works.
Fans may be excited at the idea of a possible production of "Iron Man 4," but the photo does not immediately mean that the movie has been given the go signal. Marvel Studios has yet to confirm the existence of the fourth installment. There are reports, however, that part of the reason why the fourth movie won't happen or Downey, Jr. won't be in it if it does happen, is because the actor and the film studios can agree on the latter's pay.
Some rumors even claimed that if "Iron Man 4" will get released, Downey, Jr. won't be in it because he's too old to play the role. The "Sherlock Holmes" actor is 51 years old and he will no longer be fit enough to do superhero movies. It was even rumored that a younger actor might step in to replace him.
Whether or not "Iron Man 4" will be released is still uncertain. Fans also have yet to know if Downey, Jr. will be back to suit up. Stay tuned for more updates.
