A new set of photos from the premiere of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 has been released, revealing to fans what they can expect from the new season. It's no longer a surprise that Damon (Ian Somerhalder) has crossed over to the dark side after he was lured inside a vault by a mysterious voice. For Season 8, Damon is back, ready to prey on his victims and he's also got Enzo (Michael Malarkey) backing him up on his thirst for blood.
The official photos of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8's premiere from The CW also revealed that Damon will once again use his old tricks when trying to catch his victims. Enzo was seen lying on the road as if he were dead; then comes this innocent couple who only wanted to offer help without suspecting that Damon is lurking, patiently waiting somewhere.
Meanwhile, fans of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 also have their eyes on the new nanny Seline, played by Kristen Gutoskie. Seline will be helping Alaric (Matt Davis) take care of his twins with Caroline (Candice King). But according to Zap2It, Seline will be more than just a nanny - she'll have a special place in Alaric's life. According to the news outlet, Alaric will finally find his happiness in Seline, although she may look too young for him.
Despite the brewing romance between Seline and Alaric, it seems that the latter will once again lose a loved one. In the trailer for "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, an assailant was about to slash Seline's throat, although it wasn't really shown what really happened to her. Hopefully, somebody will be there to save her before it's too late.
As for Nina Dobrev, the actress is missing from the trailer. Dobrev is rumored to return for the final season, but somehow she didn't show up. According to ChattSportsNet, producers may have failed to convince the actress to reprise her role as Elena. Fans will just have to wait for "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 to find out. The series returns to The CW on Oct. 21, 8 p.m. ET.
