As one of the biggest launch titles of not only the franchise, but of 2012 as well, DLC is no doubt highly anticipated for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. But Activision and Treyarch have been fairly quiet about the issue.
However, bits and pieces are starting to appear for possible DLC for the title. A Reddit user by the name of Splurs posted what looks like an advertisement for Black Ops 2 DLC over the weekend, seen above. It looks like promotional material sent to GameStop, but who's to say for sure?
Neither company is yet to confirm the poster's legitimacy, but when one user posted the ad on the game's forum, the post was quickly deleted. The only thing that's known for sure is that whatever DLC is coming, the 360 gets it first.
If this ad is real, then the DLC will offer five different maps, four likely for multiplayer, "Hydro," "Downhill," Mirage," "Grind," and one for the zombie mode, titled, "Die Rise." The DLC will also offer a new weapon, the Peacekeeper SMG.
If the poster is to be believed, the DLC comes out Jan. 29. No pricing details have been announced or otherwise mentioned on the poster, but if past Black Ops DLC is any indication, expect it to run about 1200 MS Points if you never grabbed the Season Pass.
Since its release, Black Ops 2 has managed to gross over $1 billion, which is just another milestone for the shooter. Shortly after the game's launch, it was revealed that Black Ops 2 managed to set records as Amazon's most pre-ordered game ever. It also managed to hit a sell-through of over $500 million worldwide in the first 24 hours of its release, according to Chart-Track, and GameStop president Tony Bartel wrote that the retailer sold more than 1 million units worldwide, decalaring, "'Black Ops II' is shaping up to be our biggest game launch of all time." It currently stands as one of the most played online games on about every major platform.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is out now for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, and the Nintendo's Wii U.
