Remembering How Microsoft 'Maliciously' Installs Windows 10 According To Digital Rights Group?

Windows 10 had experienced a rough period during its first year. While the operating system has earned some recognitions, the issues over the privacy threats and the excessively pressurized updates have prompted its upgrade into being more like an epic factor instead of a Microsoft requirement.

An advocate group for digital rights named, "The Electronic Frontier Foundation", has created a blog post that condemns the Windows 10's gathering of data, including the alleged "malicious" action by Microsoft that forced 10 onto the consumers, reports Eff. Based on reports, those who are not used to seeing the company being verbally attacked by the rights group may find it difficult to absorb the post on the site.

According to reports, Amul Kalia, the author of the piece, begins by by attacking the well-documented efforts of the Microsoft to force Windows 10 installs. Kalia stated that the strategy used by the company to convince the users of the earlier Windows versions to upgrade to the Windows 10 started from being annoying to getting malicious.

The author focused on some highlights such as when Microsoft installed an app in the system trays of the user while advertising a free upgrade to Windows 10. The app, according to the blog post, could not be hidden or removed easily, although some enterprising users have found out a way.

Later, Microsoft continued to change the app and bundled it into different security patches, making a constant search to uninstall it, PC World reported. Moreover, the author of the blog also revealed that Windows 10 brings an unusual number of usage data back to Microsoft, especially when users choose to "personalize" the software by using the OS assistant named "Cortana."

A non-exhaustive list of data sent back includes text input, location data, voice input, web pages visited, touch input and the telemetry data about the general usage of the user's computer as well as the programs run and the duration of its run.

In the end, Windows 10 of Microsoft was providing a much-improved bit of software to its users. As for the way it manages to handle everything and mess up so bad that even the EFF is talking about it the editorials, the users may just have to read the blog post to find out, BGR reported.
