The Walking Dead: The Game Episode 1 is free on Xbox Live for a limited time, but Microsoft is also offering the rest of season 1's episodes at a discounted price. Episodes 2-5 are only 200 Microsoft Points each, which means the entire first season is going for only 800 MS points or about $9.99 in real money.
This a great deal to get the whole first season without experiencing the unfortunate issues that are plaguing the game's retail release on Xbox 360. Many gamers are calling that version unplayable on Telltale's forum.
For those of you who do not know, The Walking Dead: The Game based on Robert Kirkman's "The Walking Dead" comic book series is available for iOS, Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 gaming platforms.
Here are is a quick run down of each episode from the game's official site:
Episode 1:
"The critically acclaimed debut episode of The Walking Dead begins at the outset of the undead apocalypse. Lee Everett awakes into a world collapsing into anarchy as society fails to deal with the undead plague. Seeking refuge, he stumbles upon Clementine, an eight-year-old girl whose parents are missing. Lee takes Clementine under his wing as they seek safety from the walkers all around them."
Episode 2:
"With starvation and bandit attacks as much of a threat as the undead, you will learn what you're willing to resort to in order to survive. As things become ever more desperate, the group is offered food from strangers, but at what cost?"
Episode 3:
"The motor inn has been home for the past few months, but dwindling supplies, threats from without and betrayal from within set events in motion that change everything and cause Lee to reevaluate what - and who - is important to him. Fleeing Macon, the survivors head toward the perceived safety of the coast, but is anywhere really safe when danger follows them at every step?"
Episode 4:
"In the wake of terrible loss, the group arrives in Savannah in search of a boat and escape from the horrors around them. Stalked by an unseen human threat and the constant menace of the undead, Lee must decide how to deal with an increasingly paranoid group and above all, how to protect Clementine."
Episode 5:
"Episode five picks up immediately where episode four ended. Clementine has been taken: kidnapped by an unseen enemy. Lee must set out onto the streets and rooftops of the city of Savannah, a place now completely overrun by the undead, to get her back."
