Nintendo Patents Panorama View for Wii U

Wii U Tvii is about to get a lot more interesting.

Nintendo was awarded a patent for a Panorama View feature for their new console today. The feature will allow owners to use their GamePad to see different views of what they're watching. Or, if you prefer technical jargon, "Plural windows or portholes into a virtual space, at least some of which are handheld and movable, are provided by using handheld and other display devices."

Gamers will have to option of buying the app come Spring. As it's optional, it should be interesting to see how many games, movies, TV shows, etc. will plan on utilizing the feature, as it will require one hell of a camera set up.

There will also be a demo released once the app is available so gamers can give the feature a test drive.

You can check out the official patent here, and read its many colorful, and illustrious, scientific descriptions, like "One example non-limiting implementation provides an immersive spatial human-machine interface comprising at least one handheld display movable in free space; an arrangement configured to determine at least some aspects of the attitude of the movable handheld display."

The tech will give gamers the option of seeing objects from the screen from virtually any angle, or at least what they can reach.

There's also a video below Nintendo presented at E3 to show off the feature.

You get the idea.
