When you base a video game after the events of a movie that came out 1992, there's a chance that some of the gaming audience may have missed out on it. First off, for SHAME, as the Alien trilogy is a must see for any self described sci-fi afficionado. Second, Gearbox came out with a story trailer for Aliens: Colonial Marines, to help get you caught up, should you find yourself in the aforementioned demographic. Watch it below!
For those of you who have seen the movies, there's a reason why bandage boy at the beginning sounds familiar. It's because Michael Biehn is reprising his role as Corporal Dwayne Hicks. Same goes for Lance Henriksen as the andr...excuse me, "synthetic human," Bishop. And yes, that was Bishop you saw at the :57 mark. How could this be when "he" was ripped in half by the Alien Queen? Well, he's a machine, so I'm sure there's a whole assembly line cranking out Bishops.
Taking place after the events of the movie "Alien 3," players wil return to the LV-426 with another crew of marines, who are searching the planet for Ellen Ripley and fellow colonial marines. Settings will include the derelict ship, Hadley's Hope, and the U.S.S Sulaco.
Some screens were released not too long ago that hinted at new alien types, and possibly some modes for the game's multiplayer.
Gearbox has announced that a Wii U version with plans to implement the famous motion tracker in the tablet controller is in the works.
Aliens: Colonial Marines will release for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on Feb. 12, 2013.
