Everybody already knows that "The Flash" Season 3 will follow the "Flashpoint" comic book storyline, where Barry Allen changes everything by going back to the past to save his mother. But is it possible that someone has already predicted what would happen in the third season? It looks like Grant Gustin's Scarlet Speedster got an early warning in Season 2. Interestingly, it came from Tom Cavanagh's Earth-2 Harrison Wells, who could return yet again in the CW series.
Tom Cavanagh's Harrison Wells Warns Grant Gustin's Barry Allen About 'Flashpoint' In 'The Flash' Season 3
Remember how Barry Allen decided to go back in time in "The Flash" Season 2? No, not in the finale when he finally kissed Iris West before running back to the past. Grant Gustin thought it would be a good idea to ask for help from Earth-1 Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne so he could run faster and defeat Zoom. Needless to say, Tom Cavanagh's Earth-2 doppelganger wasn't happy with the plan that could actually lead to the "Flashpoint" storyline in "The Flash" Season 3.
In "The Flash" Season 2 Episode 17, Barry Allen told Earth-2 Harrison Wells that he intends to get Eobard Thawne to help him get faster. Harry was unimpressed, immediately telling Barry what would happen if something goes wrong. It actually sounds like Harry was predicting that Barry will change everything and the Scarlet Speedster would be the only one who would still be aware of the real timeline. But does this mean Tom Cavanagh's character will return in "The Flash" Season 3?
Tom Cavanagh has already been confirmed to return in the third season, but it was not yet announced whether he will portray Earth-2 Harrison Wells or a completely different character. There are also speculations that the actor will appear as Earth-1 Wells, since the character would have remained alive if Barry Allen killed Reverse-Flash. Nevertheless, fans can expect to see Cavanagh in "The Flash" Season 3, which airs on The CW on October 4.
