It's hard to imagine anybody else but Daniel Radcliffe playing Harry Potter. However, the role of the adult Boy Wizard has been successfully taken by the brilliant theater actor Jamie Parker in the stage play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child". But is it possible that Radcliffe will ever return as the Boy Who Lived in the planned film trilogy by Warner Bros.? The "Swiss Army Man" has just responded to the studio's intention and compared the new movie series to the disastrous "Star Wars" prequel "The Phantom Menace"!
Daniel Radcliffe Reacts To Warner Bros. Plans For The 'Harry Potter And The Cursed Child' Film Trilogy
Although most fans were excited about the idea of making three movies based on "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child", some were skeptical that the plan would work. It looks like Daniel Radcliffe might share the not-so-enthusiastic reaction to the Warner Bros. film trilogy. The actor stated that he feels like "some things are better left untouched."
"If we went back to Potter, there’s a chance we’d make what 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' was to the original 'Star Wars'," Radcliffe told The Hollywood Reporter. However, he also joked that "there’s also the chance that we’d make 'Phantom Menace'." Daniel Radcliffe added that he does not want to be a part of the "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" films if it will ruin things for the fans.
"I don’t want to go back to anything like that and maybe sour what people have already loved," Radcliffe concluded. So does this mean that the "Victor Frankenstein" star is not interested in playing Harry again in the "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" film trilogy? The THR report did indicate that Daniel Radcliffe thinks Jamie Parker should appear as adult Harry in the movies as well. The actor also said that he is "happy enough and secure enough to let someone else play [Harry Potter]."
