The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date remains a mystery. While some reports claim that the 2-in-1 launch will be delayed and made available only in 2017, some still believe that the Surface Pro 5 will be released in October or by end of this year with upgraded features and specs such as Intel Kaby Lake processors and 4K display.
Surprisingly, Microsoft has not revealed any information on Microsoft Surface Pro 5's release date despite intense speculations, rumors and anticipation. Fans are eagerly expecting the device as it is believed it would be a tough competitor to Apple's MacBook Pro 2016.
If at all the Kaby Lake chipset is included in the Microsoft Surface Pro 5, it would provide users 40 percent enhanced performance and brilliant cooling technology, not known in previously released models. These high-performance chipsets reportedly consist of a 14-nm manufacturing process that results in such amazing performance of devices.
As per Mobile & Apps, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is expected to consist a 21-inch, 24-inch and 27-inch screen options along with 4K resolution and PixelSense display panel. It may also feature a 16GB RAM and Surface AIO graphics unit. It is rumored to run on an updated Windows 10 though the Redstone 2 update is not expected till spring 2017.
As per International Business Times, Microsoft may hold a hardware launch event in October and some expect the company will announce the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 during that event. The company will also "refresh" its Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book devices. There will be minor changes and a processor update.
If Microsoft Surface Pro 5 uses Kaby Lake chipset, the price of the device is expected to increase by $100 from the currently available Surface Pro 4. Moreover, a price slash for the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 can also be expected post the release of Microsoft Surface Pro 5.
