LG V20 smartphone has finally been revealed and it features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 MSM8992 chipset and Google's latest OS, the Android 7.0 Nougat. The smartphone has been released following the LG V10 of 2015 and the company's latest flagship model for 2016, the LG G5.
The LG V20 is similar to the LG V10 in size, it features a 5.7-inch IPS LCD display. It also boasts a secondary display, which is longer and brighter than the LG V10 and clocked at 1440p (2560 x 1440 pixels), which is about 513ppi density, Android Police reported.
In contrast to V10's rubber back and rugged look, the LG V20 is presented with a smoother, premium feel with an AL6013 aluminum alloy casing. The attribute is similar to LG G5 with the exception of the aluminum coated plastic casing that the LG G5 has.
The tech giant opted to use LG G5's camera system on the LG V20 and curated its rear with 16MP OIS shooter with 75 degrees field of view and an 8MP fixed-focus camera with 135 degrees field of view. The two rear cameras have been fitted with a color sensor and a laser autofocus system. The power button is found below the cameras, which function as a fingerprint sensor as well.
Additionally, the LG V20 uses the same processor as the LG G5 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of base internal memory which is more than G5's with 32GB. The LG V20 also supports microSD storage expansion cards apart from its 3200mAh removable battery.
LG V20 is also similar to the LG V10 with its MIL-STD 810G-shock resistance rating, making it stronger than the LG G5. The LG LG chose to have a removable metal black plate, which pops off with a single button press for the V20, ZDNet reported.
It should be noted that the LG V20 is the first smartphone to showcase Google's new OS, the Android 7.0 Nougat. LG also enabled the V20's secondary display to be compatible with the new OS version.
LG V20 is expected to come out before the end of the third quarter of 2016 and to hit the stores before the end of September. LG is rumored to follow the same premium pricing of the V10 so the V20 may come out with the starting price of $700. Watch LG V20 vs LG G5 quick comparison here:
