Sega and Gearbox have released a new Aliens: Colonial Marines trailer entitled "Aliens: Colonial Marines - Concept to Game - Hadley's Hope Interior."
The new video showcases the human colony of Hadley's Hope on the planet Acheron LV-426. In the films series "Aliens," the Colonial Marines arrive on the colony to find it severely damaged and its entire colonist population either dead or missing. The colony is legendary in the franchise's lore.
It the movie, the marines decide to evacuate the desolate settlement and destroy the colony from space. But a xenomorph stowaway on the dropship kills the pilot and causes the dropship to crash into the already damaged colony.
The development team behind the video game has recreated the colony and all of its fear-inducing corridors perfectly. The video showcases that Gearbox has done a terrific job recreating the environment and making it look almost exactly like it was in the film.
Aliens: Colonial Marines will release on Feb. 12, 2013 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC. A Wii U version is expected as well, but a release date has yet to be revealed by Sega.
Gamers who pre-order Colonial Marines will receive multiplayer marines from the classic movie: Hudson, Hicks, Apone, and Drake. Gamers will also get Ripley's flamethrower to help them recreate some classic scenes from the film franchise.
There will also be an Aliens: Colonial Marines Collector's Edition for $99.99 that comes with a powerloader vs. Xenomorph statuette, a USCM dossier containing a mission brief, a schematic of the USS Sephora, a recruitment card, iron-on badges, recon photos and a USCM graduation certificate.
