Niantic announced the "Pokemon GO" Buddy System on Saturday. However, fans are a bit disappointed as even after two days, the Pokemon companion has not arrived yet.
Many Apple and Android users have not received their Pokemon Buddy. This has led many to speculate whether Niantic would release the "Pokemon GO" update any time soon.
According to International Business Times, Android users will find the update being rolled out in parts. Apple users will have to wait as the "Pokemon GO" update is still waiting for the tech company's approval.
This is the primary reason why many iOS users have not received the "Pokemon GO" update yet. While Android users are expected to receive the update before iOS users, many of them are still waiting.
Those who have been lucky enough to play the updated game were able to do so via APK. Barring those using the APK, it is unclear why the new update hasn't reached other "Pokemon GO" players, writes Forbes.
One reason could be Niantic's withdrawal of support for jailbroken and rooted devices being used by some "Pokemon GO" players. As a result of a backlash from the gaming community, Niantic could be reconsidering its decisions.
Niantic recently went on a clean-up drive to remove spammers, bots, cheaters and third-party apps from "Pokemon GO." As a part of this drive, it even withdrew support from rooted and jailbroken devices. However, numerous users thought that they were being punished due to no fault of theirs.
There is a "Pokemon GO" trick for iOS users though that can allow them to experience "Pokemon GO" Buddy System with the help of an Android device that has already received the update, writes Heavy. Users need to log in to their game accounts form the Android device to designate a Pokemon.
After this, they can log out from the Android device and log back in on their iOS device. Despite the iOS device not receiving an update, the app will still use the iOS device to track how far a "Pokemon GO" player has walked with the buddy.
