Since its release a few months ago, "Pokemon Go" has risen to be one of the most popular games in mobile gaming history. While they have broken astounding records, Niantic has to keep introducing new features to get their players even more excited. Rumors have been circulating about new Pokemon, moves and items, but one of the most striking rumoured feature would be that players would soon be allowed to have Pokemon buddies.
The BitBag reports that Niantic is soon to introduce a very exciting feature, the Pokemon Buddy System, to the game very soon. While a lot of players are already familiar with the terms, not a lot know about how this new game mechanic would exactly work.
The Pokemon Buddy System is a new feature that would allow a player to walk alongside a Pokemon of his or her choice. With this Buddy System, a player can choose one Pokemon which will be walking alongside the avatar in the game, since normally only the player's avatar can be seen. It is also reported that this will make the game more fun since a Pokemon walking alongside the player makes it more visually appealing. Players will also be rewarded with candy for walking a specific distance within the game, which adds another way to get candy aside from catching Pokemon and transferring them.
GamenGuide also reports that the buddy system has already been confirmed by Niantic, as seen in its latest patch notes for "Pokemon Go." The upcoming latest update will also come with some bug fixes which include the selection of smaller Pokemon more accessible and fixed the issue about hatching eggs without animation. The switching of networks that had become an issue had also been addressed, and the game is said to be more efficient now in terms of performance.
As for now, there is no exact date yet as to when developer Niantic will be releasing this major update which will include the Buddy System. However, it has already been definitely confirmed and Niantic has said that this big update will be rolling out very soon.
