Shonn Greene rushed for 109 yards with two touchdowns, and Braylon Edwards grabbed four receptions for 87 yards and one touchdown, as the New York Jets rallied for a 27-24 victory over the Tennessee Titans on ESPN's "Monday Night Football."
The win keeps the slim playoff chances alive for the Jets with two games remaining, and it extends their current winning streak to three games. The Jets two remaining games are against teams with losing records, the San Diego Chargers and Buffalo Bills.
The Titans led 17-14 in the second half after rallying from being down 14-0 in the first-quarter. Tennessee got back into the game with a strong effort from running back Chris Johnson, who broke two runs for over 20-yards in the second quarter and scored two rushing touchdowns.
Jake Locker completed 17 of 29 passes for 201 yards with most of them going to wide receiver Kenny Brit, who had eight catches for 123 yards and a touchdown. Johnson ran the ball 24 times for 106 yards.
The Jets had a chance to retake the lead just before the end of the first half after driving to the Tennessee five-yard line, but quarterback Mark Sanchez third-down pass was tipped in the air and picked off by Michael Griffin.
Sanchez connected with Edwards for 42 yards to start the second half and set up Nick Folk 's 30-yard field goal that tied the game at 17 apiece.
Sanchez threw one touchdown pass and finished the game throwing 20 of 34 for 249 yards. He threw two interceptions, but neither turnover hurt The Jets, as Tennessee was unable to capitalize.
Late in the fourth quarter with Tennessee leading 24-20, New York rallied to take the lead after going 80 yards on 13 plays. The drive ended when Sanchez hit a wide-open Edwards in the back of the endzone for the game-winning touchdown.
The Jets improve to 7-7 on the season and one game behind the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steeler for the sixth and final playoff spot in the AFC.
