Square Enix and United Front have revealed the next expansion for its open-world action-adventure video game, Sleeping Dogs. The new add-on is part of the game's main campaign and features a martial arts tournament.
According to an article on CVG, "The Zodiac Tournament sees undercover cop Wei Shen invited to participate in a martial arts tournament held on an offshore island. Shen, along with a number of the world's best fighters, duke it out for the entertainment of the rich and famous."
Does the plot sound familiar to you? Well that is because the expansion pays homage to classic 1970s Kung Fu films, especially Bruce Lee's "Enter the Dragon." Just like the classic movie there is an insidious villain behind the tournament. In fact it looks pretty sweet for fans of the Bruce Lee film.
Gamers will battle through evil henchmen in unique environment and battle arenas, before battling another fighter in the tournament. According to CVG, gamers will receive a unique finishing move as a reward for winning battles in the tournament.
Here is a description of the new DLC from the game's official Facebook page:
"Starring Wei Shen, the Zodiac Tournament invites you to become the dragon and unleash your fists of fury! You must utilize all of your best moves as well as some new ones, to defeat the island's hidden big boss as Wei enters this deadly game of death. New fighting styles, new combatants and new collectibles are also included in this retro gameplay add-on."
