Petition to Bring Dark Souls 2 to Wii U Gets Over 12,000 Signatures

Evidently, there are a few more aspiring Dark Souls players than Namco-Bandai thought.

A petition introduced earlier this week asking the company to develop Dark Souls 2 title to Nintendo's Wii U now stands at over 12,000 signatures.

A Wii U owner named Christopher Marcil came up with the petition, saying the game "can reach an even larger audience by including development for the Nintendo WiiU," and cites the Wii U's tablet style controller as being able to offer some intriguing features to the game, like "managing inventory on the touch screen without having to obscure the player's vision on the TV (the Souls games do not pause, so you must be able to pay attention at all times)."

Marcil also claims the Wii U as a more afordable option for players, citing the high cost of a gaming PC, and the Wii U's "free online play compared to Xbox Live fees on 360 make the WiiU version ideal for anyone who does not have or want a PS3."

WIth Dark Souls 2 still a fairly recent announcement, and no release date given, there's still time for Namco-Bandai to take Marcil and the other 12,000 fans opinions into consideration. After all, we've seen the success of petitions before.

But whether or not Namco Bandai makes Dark Souls 2 available on the Wii U a reality? We'll have to wait and see.

If you're interested in playing Dark Souls 2 on the Wii U, you can sign the the petition here.
