Alisha Wainwright Welcomed By 'Shadowhunters' Season 2 Stars, Fans
"So excited to announce that I will be Maia on the next season of @ShadowhuntersTV," Alisha Wainwright excitedly announced on her Twitter page. Of course, fans and stars of "Shadowhunters" Season 2 welcomed the "Major Crimes" star warmly. "Welcome to @ShadowhuntersTV @WainwrightAE! Can't wait to hunt," Katherine McNamara, who plays the role of Clary, tweeted, as per Just Jared Jr.
Will Maia Cause A Love Triangle In 'Shadowhunters' Season 2?
However, little is only known in Alisa Wainwright's role as Maia in "Shadowhunters" Season 2. The only thing revealed about her storyline is she will be a bartender at the Hunters Moon. It is also said that she is playing an important role in Cassandra Clare's "The Mortal Instruments," which the show is based, International Business Times reported.
In the book version of "Shadowhunters" Season 2, "The City of Ashes," Maia is connected with Clary (Katherine McNamara), Simon (Alberto Rosende), Magnus (Harry Shum Jr.) and Alec (Matthew Daddario). But she will be solely close to Simon as they face Valentine (Alan Van Sprang) together. It is not yet confirmed if "Shadowhunters" Season 2 is going to feature Maia and Simon's romance, as it might create a different kind of relationship between vampires and werewolves.
This, too, might lead to a strong friendship that will make way to Simon and Maureen's (Shailene Garnett) story to blossom. Another storyline is it could cause a love triangle between the three and a tension among the vampires and werewolves. Freeform has yet to announce the release date of "Shadowhunters" Season 2, but it is expected to be out in early 2017.
