Electronic Arts' Medal of Honor Warfighter will be receiving a new update next week, according to the game's official site. The update will release on Dec. 17 for the Windows PC, followed by Dec. 18 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in North America. PlayStation 3 players in Europe will receive the update on Dec. 19.
"We're updating the game based on community feedback to continuously improve the experience for our fans," EA said.
According to the webpage, the update is optional for the Xbox 360, but is required for all other platforms for the upcoming Zero Dark Thirty or The Hunt map pack.
Medal of Honor: Warfighter Zero Dark Thirty DLC will include two brand new maps (Darra Gun Market and Chitral Compound) six new weapon attachments and 14 new weapon camouflages.
The two maps are based on the new Sony Pictures film "Zero Dark Thirty," which is about the raid that resulted in the death of wanted al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.
The Zero Dark Thirty downloadable content (DLC) pack will be available on Dec. 17, for $9.99 on PlayStation Network, Windows PC and for 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live. The download will be free to purchasers of the limited edition. The pack will be released to coincide with the new movies opening.
Here are the tweaks, fixe and additions the update will include:
- VoIP improvements
- Front-end visual improvements in MP
- Increased bullet damage in Real Ops
- In-game Party improvements
- Shortened post-match timer and updated post-match progression display
- Several fixes for Eyefinity setups (PC)
- Added server leaderboards post-match
- Added Fireteam leaderboards in Battlelog
- Added Quick Select for classes/weapons
- Added server password protection support (PC)
- Added ability to modify FOV through in-game options (PC)
- Added ability to modify ADS mouse speed option (PC)
- 10 additional multiplayer ranks: Atlas Commander Bronze 1/2/3, Atlas Commander Silver 1/2/3, Atlas Commander Gold 1/2/3, and Atlas Supreme Commander - Improved stability for SP and MP
- Numerous fixes addressing known bugs and exploits
- Additional content and changes in preparation for the Zero Dark Thirty or The Hunt Map Pack

- Darra is home to dozens of back-alley shops and self-taught machinists making guns by hand
- Chitral is nearly inaccessible and was thought to be on of Bin Laden's hideouts - only those with the capabilities of total surprise will successfully penetrate the compound
