Original Story:

Mass Effect 4 is already in development at BioWare Montreal and has a tentative release window of late 2014 to mid-2015, according to Mass Effect 3 producer Mike Gamble.

In a recent interview with GamerSyndrome, Gamble, who was unnamed in the article but has been reported as the source by numerous websites, gave a rough estimate of the game's release window. He said, "Late 2014 to mid-2015. I honestly can't tell you an exact because full development on the game started a month or two ago."

Series executive producer Casey Hudson first announced the fourth entry in the franchise in September and then asked fans for suggestions for Mass Effect 4 via Twitter.

In November, BioWare Montreal studio director Yanick Roy said the Montreal studio would develop the game with Hudson remaining as the Mass Effect 4's Executive Producer. Roy also announced that the game would use an unspecified version of the Frostbite engine.

"While I can't comment on why it changed studios, fans can expect a similar style of choices and action that they've come to know in Mass Effect," Gamble said. "Casey Hudson is very much involved in the new Mass Effect game, as well as many from Edmonton. BioWare Montreal is a great studio and they did fantastic with the multiplayer for Mass Effect 3, so fans should know the series is in good hands."

Gamble went on to say that the game is still in the early stages of development, but that the Frostbite Engine 2 is "really good game engine" that the company is also using for its upcoming role playing video game, Dragon Age 3.

"The game isn't far along in development so I can't comment on specifics because they isn't any yet, Gamble said. "Frostbite 2 is a really good game engine that we are also using on Dragon Age III: Inquisition. As far as release date, there's nothing to be announced yet. You'll hear more about the new Mass Effect game in 2013."

Dragon Age III: Inquisition is believed to be delayed till 2014 and is expected to release on the next generation of consoles by Sony and Microsoft. If the release window given for Mass Effect 4 is correct, then it will also likely be a next-gen title.
