Microsoft recently launched a new cinematic trailer for "Dead Rising 4." The video, called "Black Friday," featured the return of protagonist Frank West in Willamette, Colorado.
VG247 noted that in the "Dead Rising 4" animated video, the start showed several people looking to acquire great Christmas deals on Black Friday. The Willamette Memorial Megaplex Mall was opening on the most highly anticipated shopping day of the year. The next scene showed the mall opening its doors and shoppers grabbing various treats. Blood and gore soon followed, as the zombie horde overran the place and turned it into a murder complex. The "Dead Rising 4" video, which lasted under two minutes, ended with the full moon rising high above the ill-fated mall.
Xbox.com reported that "Dead Rising 4" focuses on Frank West, who comes back to Willamette. This is 16 years after the happenings in the original "Dead Rising" game to discover the truth about a mysterious outbreak. The disease has taken over the Willamette Memorial Megaplex Mall and nearby town with the undead. In his next adventure, Frank will encounter new enemies like the Fresh, victims that immediately transform into fast and ferocious zombies. He will also battle the Evo, strong and agile zombies that copy the behavior of predatory animals.
"Dead Rising 4" will also showcase several familiar features, such as the ability to mix various weapons and vehicles to battle zombies. Frank West gets to wear brand new EXO Suits that provide him with strength and firepower. The environment in "Dead Rising 4" will be full of items that players can use to fight off the horde. "Dead Rising 4" will also feature a new multiplayer approach, where gamers can play with up to four friends to complete missions. Quick match is also available where players from around the world can join any match in progress.
