"Prison Break" Season 5's plot no longer comes as a surprise. Much of it has been revealed by the official trailer. In addition, Dominic Purcell, who plays Lincoln Burrows in the series, has also given fans some idea on what the new season is about. What remains a mystery now is if Michael (Wentworth Miller) will end up back together with the love of his life, Sara (Sarah Wayne Callies).
In "Prison Break" Season 5, Michael (Wentworth Miller) is revealed to be alive after all. While everyone thought he was dead, he was actually somewhere in a prison in the Middle East. In an interview with Deadline, Purcell revealed that his on-screen brother ended up working for terrorist groups ISIS and ISA. When Michael decided to end ties with the groups, he was framed and sent to jail. The story of the two brothers will be rewritten with a twist - with Lincoln saving Michael and helping him escape this time around.
Meanwhile, Michael's return in "Prison Break" Season 5 is expected to bring conflict to Sara's life, now that she's married to someone else - Mark Feuerstein (Scott Ness). Fans are also in for a truly emotional reunion, considering that Sara thought Michael was dead all along and that he will soon find out that he had a son with her. After all those years, Sara is still Michael's "emotional bulls-eye," according to Miller, who recently told TVLine.
The big mystery saved for "Prison Break" Season 5 is how Michael ended up working for terrorists and his future with Sara. Miller hinted that things could be different for the ex-lovers, as Michael had done some bad things and Sara may need to contend with that. With Michael also getting reunited with his prison crew, there's also the possibility that Michael might die again, Miller said.
"Prison Break" Season 5 is expected to air in spring 2017. Fox has yet to announce an exact release date so fans should stay tuned for more updates.
