"The Sims 4" is about to have a new expansion pack. Called "City Life," the upcoming DLC will showcase various features in urban living. There are also rumors that "The Sims 4" expansion will include a supernatural theme.
It is not the first time that the franchise introduced a supernatural theme. Electronic Arts (EA) also showcased various paranormal elements in "The Sims 3." There were ghosts, vampires, witches, zombies, fairies and other strange creatures and items. Players can actually transform into a scary creature. "The Sims 3" DLC also provided a new neighborhood called "Moonlight Falls," where the creatures supposedly resided.
HNGN wrote that in "The Sims 4: City Life," players expect EA to present the same supernatural creatures and more. The main focus will be an urban lifestyle, where the Sims will experience the attractions and thrill of living downtown. Early videos showed apartments, Jacuzzis on top of penthouses, street markets, posh restaurants and other street highlights. The approach may be similar to the expansion pack "Dine Out," although more emphasis will be placed on community markets in "The Sims 4." Futhermore, The Bitbag revealed that EA may also be working on the highly anticipated toddler Sim.
One modder found a render with three unique levels of detail. Although EA denied the claims that they were developing a toddler version, many still believe that the game developer will introduce the new type soon. According to EA, the render was old and made only for CEO Andrew Wilson. In the meantime, there is still no news whether "The Sims 5" will begin development. There are talks that the creation of a sequel will largely depend on the success of "The Sims 4." The game is also expected to remain PC-exclusive.
The last "The Sims 4" expansion pack was "Backyard Stuff," unveiled in July 2016, which featured a wide array of elements that let the Sims enjoy their backyard. There is no specific launch date for "The Sims 4: City Life," although some speculate that it will release late in September or sometime in October 2016. More updates and details are expected soon.
