Halo 4's Spartan Ops mode is currently on a midseason break to make room for the Infinity Challenge tournament that will take place for the next month.
The game's developer, 343 Industries released a new trailer that teases of what is to come in the remaining five episodes. Halo 4's Spartan Ops mode will return next year in January.
While some have complained about the repetitive nature of the new modes environments, the narrative justifies the reuse of the areas. Episode five might have been the best of season one so far and featured five well-rounded chapters. Chapter four is particularly good and makes great use of the game's vehicles.
The final chapter of episode five is all out war and reminds of some of the levels seen in the original Halo: Combat Evolved. The chapter ends on a cliffhanger that promises an epic battle when the series returns in January.
"The second half of Spartan Ops Season 1 returns on 1/21! Get a first look at episodes 6-10 featuring brand new stories, missions and locations," according to Halo Way Point's official YouTube.
The trailer showcases multiplayer map Vortex and what looks like new environments. There is a ton of action in the trailer and what looks like a battle with a Covenant Scarab.
For those who do not know, Spartan Ops is a new story-driven, episodic co-op mode that features many things that are found in the most game's story mode including an immersive narrative and cinematics.
Spartan Ops is included with Halo 4 at no additional charge and will have ten episodes in a season with each episode consisting of five chapters. Each chapter or mission features several objectives for a player to complete either by themselves or with a friend.
