Mass Effect 3, Black Ops 2 And Three Xbox 360 Games For Your 2012 Holiday Shopping List

The holiday season is here and you either have a few gamers to shop for or you are a gamer who wants to add a few great games to your collection. Here is our list of five Xbox 360 games that should be on your holiday shopping list:

 5. Call of Duty Black Ops II: Ever since Infinity Ward released Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in 2007, Activision has been pumping out COD games on a yearly basis. While many think the series has become repetitive with its more recent releases, each game in the franchise continues to make more money than its predecessor. Black Ops 2 at least tries to take the series into the future of warfare and present branching storylines for the first time in the series. But the real reason gamers buy COD if for the multiplayer and Black Ops 2 delivers. The game should definitely be on your holiday shopping list either for yourself or the gamer in your life.

4. NBA 2K13: Developer Visual Concepts continues to push the series forward and has created one of the best sports games of all-times. The game's new control scheme makes it easier to pull off spectacular on the court moves such as no look passes and alley-ops. The game also has a new mode called MyTeam mode where players can manage a team composed of stars that the player purchases through Virtual Currency. Players can then take that team and go online to compete against other players on Xbox Live. It is a great gift for sports enthusiast and video gamers alike.

3. Assassin's Creed III Ubisoft's latest historical action-adventure open world stealth video game is a work of art. Assassin's Creed III is set before, during and after the American Revolution from 1753 to 1783 and features incredibly detail cities and wilderness areas for players to explore. The Revolutionary War setting means that there are tons of historical figures and locales to explore. The game acts as the finale to series protagonist Desmond Miles, but introduces gamers to one of the most well rounded characters in video games, Connor Kenway. Connor is far more interesting assassin than the Altair and Ezio. The game features a new engine that makes the game feel like a familiar but fresh experience.

2. Mass Effect 3: Bioware's culmination to the Commander Shepard saga is an event in gaming. The game balances plot and character while letting gamers see the impact of our choices both past and present. Mass Effect 3 has some flaws and its ending may anger some gamers, but the journey is too satisfying to pass up. The game may have released early in 2012, but Bioware continues to add fresh downloadable content to keep gamers playing. Most of the games post-launch content is purchase worthy and the game's multiplayer aspect is actually fun.

1.Halo 4: This one could have been could have been a mess, but 343 Industries succeeds in reinventing Microsoft's flagship franchise with enough innovation to make its 11-year-old formula feel different. The game brought back the Covenant from previous games and added three new types of enemies in the form of the Prometheans.  The game moves at a faster pace than the last few games and offers more reason to come back including Spartan Ops. The episodic mode allows players to build their own custom Spartan-IV super-soldier for multiplayer use, while enjoying a story that takes place a few months after the main campaign. Halo 4 is one of the main reasons to own an Xbox 360.
