"The Simpsons" has been known for its satirical theme tackling the social and political issues of today. Now, as "The Simpsons" Season 28 is about to come, they will make fun of the controversial Donald Trump and his Trump University.
Jason Alexander Will Voice Bourbon Verlander In 'The Simpsons' Season 28
Donald Trump will be named Mr. Burns (Harry Shearer) in the parody episode of "The Simpsons" Season 28. He is set to build his own Burns University that will be the counterpart of the planned Trump University. According to Entertainment Weekly, Mr. Burns will get the help of his fellow Yale University graduate, Bourbon Verlander, who will be voiced by Jason Alexander, to develop the "for-profit" college.
"He has a very evil scheme that is a little reminiscent of the film 'Ex Machina'," executive producer Al Jean told EW. Bourbon Verlander holds a number of robots that have the ability to obtain all the student loans the government gives. Viewers might be deceived by his jolly attitude, but he got some evil plans behind the development of Burns Univeristy in "The Simpsons" Season 28.
A Regular Episode Turns 'Supersize'
Den of Geek added that Bourbon Verlander is going to help Mr. Burns to fill Burns University with fake students with their loan money. "This was just going to be a regular episode, but ... in a fit of passion and excitement and ambition and excess, we decided to supersize it," Matt Selman added. The executive producer went on to explain that they haven't done explosive stories about the "world of hip-hop and rap culture" and so they went political in "The Simpsons" Season 28.
The specific Mr. Burns episode, "The Caper Chase," will also feature the voices of Neil deGrasse Tyson, Ken Jennings, Suze Orman and Robert McKee. Other stars who will grace "The Simpsons" Season 28 are Amy Schumer, Taraji P. Henson, Keegan-Michael Key, Sarah Silverman, Allison Janney, Patton Oswalt, Michael Sheen, Lizzy Caplan and Drew Carey. "The Simpsons" Season 28 will return on Sept. 25 on Fox.
