Tony Romo threw two second-half touchdown passes, and Dan Bailey kicked a 39-yard field goal with 37 seconds remaining to give the Dallas Cowboys a 23-20 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on "NBC's Sunday Night Football."
This was a must win game for the Cowboys that was essential for their playoff hopes as Dallas attempts to keep pace with in its division with the Washington Redskin and New York Giants.
Romo finished 25 for 39 for 323 yards and threw a pair of touchdown passes in the fourth quarter to wipe out a 17-6 deficit. He was five- for-five for 39-yards on the game winning drive. Romo continued to add to his turnover number as he threw two picks and fumbled the ball once.
Dallas tight end Jason Witten had 13 catches for 135 yards and one touchdown. Dez Bryant added 79 yards on six receptions.
Bryce Brown, who set an Eagles rookie record last week with 178 rushing yards, continued to impress and he gained 97 yards on the ground and rushed for two touchdowns against the Cowboys.
In the second quarter, The Eagles were able to capitalize on Brown's running game and mistakes by the Cowboys to take a 10-6 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Rookie quarterback Nick Foles was efficient and mistake free through the first three quarters. He finished the game 18 of 25 for 172 yards with zero touchdowns and two fourth quarter turnovers.
Dallas linebacker DeMarcus Ware had huge fourth quarter and racked up two sack including a sack that resulted in Foles fumble. Both of Dallas fourth quarter touchdowns came after turnovers by the Eagles.
Cowboys' cornerback Brandon Carr picked off a pass that bounced off the outstretched hands of Jeremy Maclin with 2:53 left in the fourth quarter and Romo ran the clock down as he drove down the field to put Dallas in field goal range. Bailey hit the ball right through the middle to give Dallas a three-point lead and the victory.
