But Castiel fans are definitely excited to see what's in store for Misha Collins' angel now that more episodes will be dedicated to him. Andrew Dabb broke the good news to Castiel fans. The new "Supernatural" showrunner confirmed that Season 12 will feature Cas in a few "stand-alone episodes" and promises Misha Collins' character will be utilized "in a way he hasn't been used in a long time." Sure, sounds a little sleazy, but it still confirms there will be more of Cas in "Supernatural" Season 12.

But what will Castiel's storyline be about? Andrew Dabb mentioned that Episode 12 will be mostly Misha Collins. “That’s very heavily about Castiel and the journey he’s been on, some things from his past that we’re not aware of are getting brought to light,” he told Entertainment Weekly. So does this mean that Cas will reunite with the archangel Gabriel in "Supernatural" Season 12?

Gabriel may be long gone but that doesn't mean Richard Speight Jr. couldn't appear in a flashback in "Supernatural" Season 12. There is a possibility that Speight will reprise his role as the mischievous archangel when he directs an episode in the next season. Gabriel would be an excellent character who could help shed some light on Castiel's history when the series returns to The CW on October 13.
