Charity Buzz is offering deep pocketed Marvel fans a chance at a role in the next Captain America movie, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."
"Win" is kind of an ambiguous term though, and so is "role." Check out the rules below.
"This walk-on role is a nonspeaking role and can be redeemed between April 2 and June 30, 2013. The award is valid for two people. Both participants must be 18 or older. Availability is based on production schedule. A meet and greet will be arranged with the actors that are filming during your set visit day. Cannot guarantee meet and greet with any specific actors. It is possible filming may take the full day so please plan accordingly. We cannot guarantee the scene in which you participate or your performance in that scene will make the final editor's cut. While on the set, please follow any rules or guidelines communicated to you by the production staff. Airfare, transportation and accommodations not included. Cannot be returned or exchanged. Cannot be resold or re-auctioned. To be scheduled at a mutually agreed upon date. Winning bidder and guest(s) subject to security screening. We expect all winning bidders and their guests to conduct themselves appropriately when attending an experience won at Charitybuzz. Polite manners and respect for the generous donor and adherence to any rules or parameters are a must."
Essentially, you're paying for the chance to be an extra, and then pay again to get yourself a hotel room, as well as transportation.
You might be henchman #5 to take Cap's shield to your face, or if you're really lucky, maybe even dramatic close-up guy with no speaking parts. Don't think this gets you a start on the walk of fame, because after all that, your role may not even make the final cut of the movie. Stardom truly is bitter sweet.
Proceeds of the auction go to Toluca Baseball.
"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" features Chris Evans reprising his role as the titular hero clad in the stars and stripes, as well as Cobie Smulders, Scarlett Johansson, and Samuel L. Jackson again playing their S.H.I.E.L.D counterparts. Frank Grillo has been cast to play the villain Crossbones.
The movie is set to release April 4, 2014.
