PlayStation 4 Neo, being developed by Sony, could be the enhanced version of the latest PlayStation 4 that has upgraded components. The new gaming machine is also expected to come with the capabilities of playing games with 4K resolution.
PlayStation 4 Neo invitations were already sent out to selected group of media people for the PlayStation Meeting in New York City on Sept. 7, Polygon reported. While there are speculations that the event will formally announce the PS4 Neo, Sony has not given much information regarding the upcoming event.
Some PlayStation 4 Neo reports also took note of the fact that the console release appears to target the Christmas market, although a number say that it is more likely to happen in tomorrow, Sept. 7. The scheduled sale of PlayStation VR in October also created rumors that the Japanese company may have a grand PS4 Neo reveal on Sept. 7. Based on the invitations, however, Sony will only share details regarding the PlayStation business.
There are also PlayStation 4 Neo reports indicating that the device is the company's in-house codename for the gaming device. Sources of some websites are claiming that Neo will largely feature an upgraded GPU, RAM and CPU. Same sources also noted that the Neo will come with a higher clock speed compared to the original PS4 with an enhanced GPU.
In addition, the games are also expected to run the old and new versions of PS4. However, the ones that run on the current hardware are going to benefit from the higher visual fidelity and improved frame.
As for the specs, PlayStation 4 Neo reports are suggesting that the internal CPU may benefit from the enhancements in chip structure to boost efficiency and power. The changes are also heavily expected to be made on the GPU of the system.
PlayStation 4 Neo is expected to cost from $399, depending on the latest hard disk options of 1TB or 500 MB, Mirror reported. Watch this Playstation 4 Neo expectations and confirmations in terms of specs here.
