Fans of "Sleepy Hollow" season 4 will see Ichabod Crane on a new mission without the enchanting Abbie Mills for the very first time. While the two characters are the center of the whole series, creators have decided to add new characters and a replacement for Abbie.
New Mission Without Abbie Mills
Creators of the series admitted that doing "Sleepy Hollow" season 4 without Nicole Beharie (Abbie Miller) was tough. While the central core of the entire series was Abbie and Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison), the creators decided on a reboot to continue the story.
In fact, the producers and creators have decided to add two new characters in "Sleepy Hollow" season 4, including a new female lead. Janina Gavankar will play the new female lead next season per TV Line. In a recent Instagram post, she playfully posed with her co-lead Tom Mison (Ichabod) during Atlanta's Dragon Con.

Also, Jerry MacKinnon will join Janina Gavankar in "Sleepy Hollow" season 4. According to Fox Entertainment President David Madden, it was very hard to decide on a fourth season without Beharie after she was killed off in April finale.
However, when the executive learned the new characters and the new adventures of Ichabod, he finally conceded. "And the first seven scripts are really fun," Madden said of "Sleepy Hollow" season 4. "We think there's a lot of good new stories to tell."
Who Is Diana?
Janina Gavankar will play Diana, a special agent for Homeland Security in "Sleepy Hollow" season 4 per Uproxx. She is a single mom, who previously worked as a military officer.
