"Winds of Winter" rumored release date is "incorrect." This has just been confirmed by George R. R. Martin's publisher following an Amazon France page teased about the book's alleged release date. Based on reports, Amazon France stated that the book will be released in March 2017. Although the listing is still there, the release date is already removed.
The "Winds of Winter" was expected to be launched prior the initial episode of "Game of Thrones" Season 6. However, Martin also confirmed that he was not able to meet another self-imposed deadline, which has made it possible for the TV series to spoil some of the next events in the book. While the TV show has parted from the source material, both remain heading to a similar ending.
The book's publisher, Random House, told reporters that the listed date of release on the website of the online retailer is, indeed, inaccurate. The publisher also expressed their support to Martin as he continues to work hard on the book, and announced as well that when the author finishes the draft, they will let the public know.
In addition to this, HarperCollins, Martin's UK publisher has also stated that nothing has been finalized yet regarding the book's publication or release date. Since the last book in "A Song of Ice and Fire" was released in July 2011, it seems that the wait for "Winds of Winter" would be among the longest, IBTimes reported.
"Winds of Winter" publisher Random House stated in an interview that any on-sale schedules that are currently listed about the book are not true, Techno Buffalo reported. "Winds of Winter's" alleged release date, which suggests the next installment in "Games of Thrones," has eventually been confirmed as a bit of information for the fans to hold onto after several delays.
