'Narcos' Season 3 Spoilers, News & Update: Netflix Show to be Renewed Without Wagner Moura; New Season to Center Around Cali Cartel

It's undeniable: Netflix has this uncanny ability to roll out captivating series that will leave you hooked. Thank goodness they stream episodes of a whole series all at the same time, so viewers could watch them all in succession without having to wait a week. The streaming service has been on a roll with "Jessica Jones," "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," and most recently, "Stranger Things," which was renewed for a second season, unsurprisingly.

One show that has yet to await its renewal, though, is "Narcos," which ended on a sad but conclusive note. The sophomore season of the Netflix show saw the death of drug kingpin Pablo Escobar, excellently played by Golden Globe nominee Wagner Moura. The show successfully told the story of the rise and fall of Escobar, but now that he's dead, will the Netflix show be renewed even without Escobar?

The answer is seemingly yes. Moura recently spoke to TIME to share this thoughts on "Narcos" without him, if Netflix decides to renew the show. The 40-year old Salvadoran actor said that "the idea of Narcos was always beyond Escobar," and that Escobar was "just the beginning."

The whole point of "Narcos" was to tell the story of the drug trade not only in Colombia, but the Latin American countries as a whole. In fact, executive producer Eric Newman told Entertainment Weekly that while there's so much stories left to be told about the Colombian drug trade, it would make sense to head over to Mexico and tell stories about the drug trade there as well.

Newman said that if "Narcos" is greenlighted for another season, he and his team would delve into the research they made for the show and whip up something "kind of cool." He added that they could also explore Javier Peña's new life in the U.S., and his role in taking down the Cali Cartel.

If "Narcos" season 3 gets a go signal, it seems that the Cali Cartel will be pushed to the forefront, with Hélmer “Pacho” Herrera (played by Alberto Ammann) taking the lead as the main antagonist. Keep checking back for more updates on the possible "Narcos" season 3 on Netflix.
