Max Payne 3's "Painful Memories" DLC Gets a Release Date

Offering a much needed change for those wiped out from hours grinding to get to prestige in Black Ops 2, new multiplayer DLC for Max Payne 3 is on the horizon.

Painful Memories arrives on all formats offering Payne come Dec. 4.

As the title indicates, there's a bit of nostalgia offered for anyone who remembers Max's debut all the way back on the PlayStation 2. Among the four multiplayer maps offered is Roscoe Street Subway, the first level of Max Payne, long before he went grey in the hair and dead behind the eyes. The other maps include Marty's Bar, Shoot First, and Canal de Panamá.

Besides maps, the DLC features two new assault rifles, as well as an item called Hangover Burst, which inflicts bad guys with all the staples of the day after a long night of boozing: bad odor, a wicked desire for a bloody mary, and best of all for Payne and players, blurred vision.

The pack will cost $9.99 on PlayStation 3 and PC and 800 Microsoft points for Xbox 360, but it's already included for holders of the Rockstar Pass. Proof that membership has its perks.

The last bit of DLC for Max Payne 3 was the "Hostage Negotiation" pack. Released Oct. 30, the pack included four new multiplayer maps: Club Moderno, Estádio Do Galatians, O Palácio Strip Club and Favela Heights. It will also had new items like Explosive Burst for explosive booby traps, Bomb Suit for protection and Intimidation Mask that causes slower reload time for the enemies. Weapons introduced included the M24 Sniper Rifle and the IA2 Assault Rifle. The game will also get a new avatar faction.

Max Payne 3 is out now for PlayStation 3, Windows PC, and Xbox 360. Future DLC packs, Deathmatch Made in Heaven, and Trickle Down Economics Map Pack are now in development.
