Borderlands 2 Not Coming to Nintendo's Wii U

Sorry shooter fans, but if you were looking for another FPS to play on Nintendo's new console, it looks like you're stuck with just Black Ops 2 for the time being.

NintendoEverything is reporting Gearbox President Randy Pitchford explanation that the wacky shooter-RPG cross breed Borderlands 2 is not coming to the Wii U.

When asked why, Pitchford explained the answer was quite simple. "Because we couldn't think of a natural, obvious, 'OMG, I want that for what the Wii U brings to the table' feature."

Makes sense. After all, a wide array of the games that were already available on other consoles made sure to take advantage of the Wii U's tablet controller in order to spice things up a bit, offering players a new take on "older" games.

But this doesn't mean that Gearbox isn't forgoing the Wii U for any of their other games. As a matter of fact, Pitchford feels that Aliens: Colonial Marines will make a great fit due to the game's motion scanner device.

Pitchford helped clarify the mood the motion controller would bring to the game, saying, "But with Aliens, the first thing we thought was 'Holy shit, I can have a motion controller in my hands!' When it's there in my lap it feels like I'm part of the movie." It's better if you try to hear that in Hudson's voice.

Expect to see it in action in a future Colonial Marines trailer.

Better no game than a shoddy one.

Borderlands 2 is out now on PC, Mac, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. A new DLC, Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage was released Nov. 20, and at least two more DLC campaigns are planned for future releases.

Speaking with GameZone, Gearbox President Randy Pitchford said, "We are just getting started and have incredible momentum to improve and add to the game all the way through the holiday season and beyond. We can't wait to show everyone what more we have in store for Borderlands 2."
