Halo 4 will be receiving three multiplayer map packs as downloadable content starting on December 10, and ending on April 1, 2013, according to a leaked image that appeared on the German Xbox Dashboard.
IGN reports that an image was sighted on Halo Council by forum member xJumPeR_JumPzZ on the German Xbox Dashboard. The story was originally reported by website MP1st.
The image reveals the release date for the previously announced map packs, according to IGN's report, "the Crimson Map Pack is supposedly due December 10, the Majestic Map Pack will appear on February 25, and the Castle Map Pack will follow up on April 1."
The map DLC was previously announced by 343 Industries. The Crimson Map Pack will include three maps; Wreckage, Harvest and Shatter. The developer says that gamers will "Witness the chaos of a clash of civilizations in Wreckage, with its blend of claustrophobic spaces and dangerous exposures and venture into the human colony environs of Harvest, and explore a human foray on an alien moon in Shatter."
The second map pack, Majestic Map Pack, will include the maps, Landfall, Monolith and Skyline. According to 343 industries, "Landfall's emphasis is on infantry battles against a glittering ocean on a distant world, while Monolith exposes you to the naked vacuum of space - and the firepower of opposing teams, and Skyline's distinctly industrial feel provides new challenges in somewhat familiar, but occasionally confined spaces."
The third map pack Castle Map Pack will include the maps, Daybreak, Outcast and Perdition. According to the developer, "Daybreak is set in a military facility against the backdrop of an idyllic mountain range, while Outcast plunges you into the warrens, canyons and arches of an alien edifice, and Perdition takes players into the heart of an urban sprawl, with tactical speed and situational awareness its key features."
All three map packs will be available for the Halo 4 War Games Pass that cost $24.99 or 2,000 Microsoft Points. The War Games Pass nets gamers a 15 percent discount as well as the Falcon emblem. The Map Pass was included for free with the Halo 4 Limited Edition.
