In spite of the controversies it is facing, "Lucifer" Season 2 is set to be back this month. Aside from the said arrival of Lucifer's mother, there are swirling rumors that the fantasy police procedural comedy-drama will have 13 episodes this time.
Will 'Lucifer' Season 2 Have More Than 13 Episodes?
In a Twitter post from Lucifer Writers Room, the group was questioned if "Lucifer" Season 2 is set to have more than 13 episodes. "Good question. We still don't know. As of right now, we've only been guaranteed 13," the team responded.
However, as nothing is confirmed yet, the IMDb page of "Lucifer" Season 2 indicated that it only has 13 episodes, which will run from Sept. 19 to Dec. 12. It is not yet sure if the TV series will be extended or will have more episodes.
Lucifer's Mother Coming In 'Lucifer' Season 2
Moreover, Christian Today reported that Lucifer's (Tom Ellis) mother will come back on Earth in "Lucifer" Season 2 straight from hell. "Season two? Mom. If you want to go from one word to two words, Tricia Helfer," executive producer Joe Henderson said at the recent San Diego Comic-Con. "She is awesome. She just came in and owned the role in a way you rarely see, but when you hire Tricia Helfer, you know is going to happen."
As his mother managed to escape hell, it looks like Lucifer will have a hard time to deal with everything in "Lucifer" Season 2. This will be proved when he finally sees his mom's new "sexy vessel," as per TV Guide. Tricia Hefler's role can be considered as the new "Stacey's Mom" or might be another "S" mom when she arrived in the TV series.
Tom Ellis even described that Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) and his character as Lucifer will be found in the world of "Stifler" in "Lucifer" Season 2 because of his mother. There is also a strong assumption that his mom, who looks younger than she is, might have a romance with his friend, Dan (Kevin Alejandro). "Lucifer" Season 2 will return on Sept. 19 on Fox.
