There are a lot of changes coming in "Criminal Minds" Season 12 as Thomas Gibson exits. She is only announced to be a guest star, now Paget Brewster becomes a series regular on the police procedural crime drama.
New Series Regulars In 'Criminal Minds' Season 12
"We're all so excited to have Paget with us full time. The BAU family has definitely missed her, on screen and off," executive producer Erica Messer said, as per Variety. "Having her back on set has been great, it's like she never left." Paget Brewster will reprise her role as SSA Emily Prentiss in the return of "Criminal Minds" Season 12.
The promotion of Paget Brewster as a series regular comes after Thomas Gibson gets fired. With that, "Criminal Minds" Season 12 will also have a lot of casting changes. With the loss of two major roles, people behind the show added Adam Rodriguez and Aisha Tyler as new series regulars, too, in the "Criminal Minds" Season 12. Joe Mantegna, Matthew Gray Gubler, A.J. Cook and Kirsten are all set to reprise their roles and Thomas Gibson will still be seen in a couple of episodes.
