A Look at Metro: Last Light’s Preacher, and Little Else (Watch the Trailer Here!)

THQ has released a new live-action trailer for Metro: Last Light, focusing on the Preacher that was seen in the first live-action trailer of this title. You might remember him as the stark raving madman laughing while rockets launched in the background. Well, somehow he managed to make it to safety, and has become something of a popular character in the eyes of the Russian mole people. Watch the trailer below!

Historically, ranting and raving Russians preaching to a crowd aren't looked too fond upon. Whether THQ is is shaping the character into some sort of villain, friendly, or otherwise, is not yet known.

A sequel to 2010's Metro 2033, itself based on the book of the same title, we still know very little about the Metro: Last Light's plot. It doesn't seem to be based on the book sequel, titled "Metro 2034," but the author Dmitry Glukhovsky has been working with the Last Light developers, so there may be a few similarities here and there.

To play catch up, Metro 2033 was set in the beautiful and scenic undergrounds of an irradiated, post-apocalyptic Russia. During the chaos of the bombing, people struggled their way into the underground metro stations for shelfter. Anything left on the surface was exposed to heavy doses of radiation, and over the next 20 years, mutated into creatures called the Dark Ones. Protagonist Artyom was tasked with making his way through various Metros (based on the various rumors), since organized into nation-states, to get to a missile silo to destroy the Dark Ones. Upon reaching the silo, the player is left with a choice which impacts the ending received.

Fast forward to now, and...well, that's it. Save for some live-action trailers, and a single gameplay trailer (which could easily have been a flashback), we know nothing more about the plot.

With the first-person visual and post-apocalyptic setting, one could easily make the mistake of calling this Fallout lite, but the emphasis seems to be more on action than exploration.

Hopefully we'll see more of Metro: Last Light in the weeks to come. A release date is planned for March of next year.
