The official "Pokemon Go" Twitter account recently announced that Stardust can now be used to Power Up any Pokemon in a trainer's collection. A short "Pokemon Go" video was presented to show how Stardust can improve any type of Pokemon.
Generally, Stardust and Candy can be acquired in "Pokemon Go" by catching Pokemon and hatching eggs. Players will eventually have the ability to Power Up captured Pokemon, thereby boosting their HP and CP. Gathering thousands of Stardust quickly can give "Pokemon Go" players a big advantage in battles and gym control.
In the Twitter post, a brief demo of Stardust being used on Magikarp was shown. Magikarp is one of the most common creatures in "Pokemon Go," which may emphasize Niantic's point that Stardust can boost any Pokemon in the trainer's collection. Pokemon Candies are actually more popular among players because these can evolve Pokemon. The new tweak for Stardust will deem it as another essential item in strengthening captured Pokemon.
The "Pokemon Go" support page explained that any Pokemon can be powered up with Stardust by going to Map View. Touch the Main Menu. Next, touch the Pokemon icon. Choose a specific Pokemonfrom the available list to Power Up. Finally, touch Power Up on the Pokemon stat summary. A couple more menus will appear to confirm the boost. "Pokemon Go" trainers will notice that they cannot Power Up their Pokemon unless they have sufficient Candy and Stardust.
"Pokemon Go" players can gather a lot of Stardust by going to a location known to be populated by several Pokemon. Use a Lure or Incense to draw the creatures out. Regardless of the Pokemon's rarity, players can gain thousands of Stardust in several minutes, based on the total Pokemon that they capture. Hatching eggs in "Pokemon Go" is another good way to gain a lot of Stardust. Players should aim to travel anywhere between 5km and 10km to yield the most Stardust.
The new Stardust adjustment in "Pokemon Go" will compel players to focus on it as well, aside from Candies. More updates and details on "Pokemon Go" are expected soon.
