‘Pokemon Go’ Latest News & Update: Anti-Cheat System Could Be an Interim Measure to Catch Bots and Spam

The latest "Pokemon GO" anti-cheat update assures that no bot or cheat can make a comeback in the game. Creator of FastPokeMap also confirmed in a series of tweets that the latest "Pokemon GO" update will be extremely difficult for bots to bypass.

The "Pokemon GO" is evolving with Niantic releasing numerous updates to make the game a fair and fun experience. The new anti-cheat tool uses a captcha to identify spam and bots. The captcha gets activated whenever Niantic finds a fishy movement during gameplay.

According to a Reddit user, Niantic has recently updated "Pokemon GO" with a minor bot fix patch. Although this hasn't been officially announced yet, the code clearly shows the presence of a new anti-cheat system for the vigorously-played game.

The "Pokemon GO" anti-cheat system acts like a tracker and this ensures no player resorts to any unfair means during play. The captcha is a way to cleanse the system. This system is used widely by many websites.

With the system in place, a "Pokemon GO" player will be asked to take an action periodically. He/she needs to click the "I'm not a robot" option to assure Niantic there is no third-party app in play, writes iTech Post. If the anti-cheat system detects any unusual patterns, it will straightaway take down the account of the user.

However, as the captcha system is nothing new, it may be easily bypassed by hackers. This has led many to believe that the "Pokemon GO" anti-cheat system is just an interim measure as a stricter system is in the works that will more foolproof.

"Pokemon GO" users are treading on tricky grounds as they are not sure which apps can get them banned. Rumors suggest gamers using stat tracking and organization tools such as Poke Advisor may face ban too.
