The anticipation is on the rise as Tom Hanks will once again hit the big screen with the biopic, "Sully." The 60-year-old star will play the role of Chesley Sullenberger, the U.S. Airways pilot who disembarked his plane safely on the Hudson River saving the lives of 155 passengers.
Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger Talks About The Memorable Event
In 2009, Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger made noise when the plane he was flying from New York to North Carolina needed an emergency landing. The aviation safety consultant had no choice but to land the aircraft on the icy water of Hudson River for being hit by a flock of geese. The day he thought was only an ordinary flying time became one of the most memorable periods in America.
"I had been flying airplanes for 42 years, and in all that time I never knew when or even if I would be faced with some ultimate challenge," he said. Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger got all the praised for keeping the lives of his passengers' safe, but the National Transportation Safety Board still conducted a full investigation into the matter.
"The investigative board was trying to paint a picture that he had done the wrong thing," Clint Eastwood, who directed "Sully," revealed. Tom Hanks, on the other hand, admired Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger for the heroic act he did, but, unfortunately, it still takes its toll on him, according to LifeZette.
'Sully' The Movie
"Sully" is set to hit the theaters on Sept. 19 in the United States and on Dec. 2 in the United Kingdom, as per Flickering Myth. Along with Tom Hanks, Aaron Eckhart, Laura Linney, Holt McCallany, Anna Gunn and Jerry Ferrara will also be seen in the film. The Clint Eastwood directorial-movie would, too, have Max Adler, Sam Huntington, Mike O'Malley and Autumn Reeser. "Sully" is written by Todd Komarnicki and derived from Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger and Jeffrey Zaslow's autobiography, titled "Highest Duty: My Search for What Really Matters."
