Apple and Sony will technically be playing peek-a-boo on September 7, the day when both companies will unveil their respective devices. This is with reference to the iPhone 7 and the PS4 Neo, both much-awaited devices. Invitations have been sent out and now the logistics are out.
From the looks of it, Apple will be the first one to unveil its flagship over in San Francisco. According to GameSpot, Apple’s event will kick off starting at 1 p.m. ET while Sony starts the ball rolling at 3 p.m. ET.
iPhone 7 will not be alone
As mentioned in a previous post, the San Francisco event will purely be centered on the iPhone 7. The MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to debut at another future event, likely happening in the Fall. Much of this was covered in a previous post.
But the event may not solely about the iPhone 7 alone. iOS 10 is expected to be unveiled and the Apple Watch 2, CNet reported.
Word of such isn’t really new since the Apple Watch 2 and the iOS 10 were long believed to be appearing alongside the iPhone 7 for apparent reasons. Both have some ‘connection’ to the iPhone 7 while the MacBook Pro 2016 doesn’t have anything immediately tied up to it.
So which deserves attention?
Both Apple and Sony have devices that have been long been awaited so it begs to ask if the timing could be critical. The iPhone 7 and the PS4 Neo are expected to debut with nothing major so it could all boil down to consumer interest.
The only thing certain is that techies may be divided on which to pay more close attention to. Apple may be first to pull the trigger but right now, even that is no guarantee that their event will make a big splash.
